The Golden Pavillion - This temple was built for a Shogun in1394 for his retirement. It is actually a replica built in 1955, because a temple priest set fire to the original in 1950.
The Temple grounds are just as they were in the 14th century. Just beautifully landscaped and an amazing big pond in front of the temple. When the pond is not frozen you would see a beautiful reflection of the gold temple in the water.

We stopped at a little noodle bar after our morning visits to the temples. Even though theyr didn't speak English we managed to get yet another great feed.
The kids all had a hearty meal of pork noodle soup, bowl of rice and a plate of fried chicken.
